How to play
"DERBY" · QUINELLA
You're sitting at the finish line of the 1985 Sigma Derby cabinet with a cup of quarters. The rest is up to five plastic horses on chains.
At the machine
Feed the slot. Tap the coin slot (or your cup) to drop quarters in. Hold it down to keep feeding. Each quarter adds 1 to the COIN METER.
Read the odds. The lit yellow placards show what each two-horse combination pays per quarter, 2 up to 500.
Bet. Each press of a yellow BET button moves one coin from the meter onto that combination. Up to 20 per combination, as many combinations as you like.
Race. Your first bet starts a 30-second window. Press START to go sooner. Bell, gate, and they're off. With no bets down, the machine waits for you.
Get paid. If your two horses finish 1st and 2nd in either order, the hopper drops odds × coins bet into the tray. Tap the tray to scoop them back into your cup. PAYOUT empties the coin meter into the tray.
Odds are fair: payouts come from the same probabilities that decide the finish, with a house edge near the real machine's 10–20%. You start with a $20 cup (80 quarters). When the cup runs dry, grab another $10 roll.
Turn your phone sideways for the widescreen seat with the controls built into the table.
